In 1997, Sony released one of the most compact laptops in the market – the VAIO 505. It was based on a Pentium CPU, with 32 MB of RAM and 1GB of storage. It also featured an impressive LCD screen and a plethora of peripheral ports. However, it was expensive for its time, even though it was nearly unmatched as an ultra-portable computer.
